TAQDEER AWARD FOR ‘LABOUR WELFARE’admin
Taqdeer Award, launched IN 2016, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. The Award is the world’s first points-based award programme aimed at setting international benchmarks in labour welfare and honoring excellence. Taqdeer Award has been created to recognise and reward excellence in labour relations, strengthening the Emirate of Dubai’s position as home to the most progressive employers in the Middle East.
Kimoha family have received the award in first appearance itself with a FOUR STAR of excellence. Winners of 4 and 5-star ratings will receive certificates; given priority in government projects and honoured during a special ceremony. As well as getting the prestigious award, top ratings will give companies a distinct competitive advantage with regards to international opportunities.
The award mainly intended, In order to ensure protection of labour rights and welfare of workers community. The assessment was done by a team of veterans, on Labourers Policies & Strategies, Facilities & Infrastructure, Ocupational Health & Safety, Labour Security, Recruitment & Wages, Labour Relatios, Communication & Feedback, Justice and Transparency, Creativity & Innovation, Rules & Regulatios, Labour Perception, and Performane indicators.
Apart from commercial benefits, it included more on Labour welfare like Minimizing labour disputes and thereby generating millions of dirhams savings for organizations ; Spreading awareness about the importance of developing systems, rules, guidelines, and local laws related to labour ; Participation of labourers in social life, activities and initiatives in the Emirate where it leads to enhancing their contribution and loyalty to their organizations.
The award ceremony was held at World Trade Centre on 19th December, about 25 companies have been awarded 3, 4, 5 star awards from an overall participation of over 100 companies from Construction, Free zone, and manufacturing sectors. 10 labourers from each company participated and a final group photo showing the unity was the highlight of the Grand Award Ceremony..
This award will go a long way in enhancing relationship between employers and employees. These incentives will help inspire excellence in labour relations and encourage companies to place the welfare of their workforce as one of the pillars of their business philosophy.
